Mickaël Couturier is a French multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker and philanthropist whose practice spans sculpture, mosaic, painting, photography, film, music and environmental storytelling. His work explores humanity’s relationship with nature and society, often transforming unexpected or discarded materials into artworks designed to provoke wonder, emotion and reflection.

Founder of Plastic Angels, Couturier created the project to transform plastic waste into art while bringing attention to the environmental and human realities surrounding Bali’s waste crisis. Through Plastic Angels, his artistic work also supports initiatives providing food and education to children in need.

His practice now extends to Stella Earth, his most ambitious work to date: a monumental sea turtle created from discarded ocean plastic, intended to become the world’s largest recycled-plastic sculpture upon completion.
